Globalstar Names New Operations OfficerSAN JOSE, California - March 13, 1998 - Globalstar (NASDAQ:GSTRF) announced today that Ms. Gloria Everett has been named senior vice president operations. As Globalstar's senior vice president, operations, Ms. Everett, 54, will be responsible for managing schedule, costs, and performance associated with the operation, integration and test, and deployment of Globalstar's worldwide, satellite-based communications system. She succeeds Mr. Bob Hicks, who retired recently from the position. Ms. Everett joins Globalstar after a distinguished 31-year career at AirTouch, where she most recently served as vice president, network engineering and operations. In this position she was responsible for the planning, deployment, systems engineering, vendor selection, and technical management of AirTouch's analog and digital cellular telecommunications network. "I'm very excited to be at Globalstar," said Ms. Everett. "The challenge of building out a global satellite telecommunications system with such potential is not only personally rewarding, but allows me to continue to work with my friends and colleagues at AirTouch -- one of Globalstar's founding partners -- and elsewhere in the wireless industry." The $2.6 billion Globalstar system, comprised of 48 low-earth-orbiting (LEO) satellites and a global network of ground stations, will allow people around the world to make or receive calls using hand-held, vehicle-mounted and fixed-site terminals. Globalstar will also provide data transmission, paging, facsimile and position location. Globalstar now has service provider agreements in more than 106 countries covering 85% of Globalstar's business plan, and launched its first four satellites on February 14th, 1998 from Cape Canaveral, Florida.
